Facial Rejuvenation

Facial rejuvenation technique was developed by a combination of ancient acupuncture prescriptions to treat facial paralysis and the modern day youth-preserving methods such as Mei Zen technique. It aims to naturally stimulate the production of elastin and collagen in order to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin tone, lift saggy and toneless facial muscles.

Acupuncture facial rejuvenation technique mimics the effects of chemical peels and facial fillers, without the harsh drying effects of acids as well as requiring minimal down-time for recovery.

The procedure consists of inserting 50-100 tiny, micro-needles all around the face, head, and neck and retained for around 20-30minutes. Each session is customized to target specific lines, wrinkles created by the patient’s facial expressions, as well as any muscle tone loss/tension. Most patients feel a warm sensation in the face/needle sites and feel relaxed with the procedure.

After the facial needling, guasha therapy, facial cupping therapy, or jade roller may be used depending on the patient’s condition. These therapies will aid in either cooling the skin post needling or increasing the lymphatic movements in order to decrease any swelling or puffiness.

Patients who bruise easily may take arnica before the procedure to reduce chance of bruising, which is a real risk from micro needling. Some may also refrain from taking blood thinning supplements for a few days before the procedure to prevent bruising. Patients are advised to cover their face from sun exposure after the treatment for the whole day.
